Financiamiento en la Educación Superior: Un estudio bibliométrico de los costos de titulación

Abstract
The financing of higher education, especially university fees, represents a challenge for students and institutions. The purpose of this study is to provide a solid basis for the development of more equitable and sustainable policies in the educational system. To this end, a bibliometric analysis of 730 articles indexed in the Web of Science (WoS), published between 1985 and June 2024, was conducted using VOSViewer and Bibliometrix software. The results revealed that publications are concentrated in 30 journals, with “BMC Medical Education” standing out, and that the United States led the scientific production. The most cited author was Claire Callender and the predominant keywords found were “Higher Education”, ‘Education’ and “Students”.This study evidenced the growing interest in university funding models, highlighting their impact on the accessibility, quality and sustainability of the educational system. It was concluded that it is crucial to move towards more inclusive and efficient financial models.
