Abstract

Poor communication is an indicator of poor performance in construction projects. To improve, proper communication channels are required. The meeting is the most commonly used forum in the industry where stakeholders communicate. This paper investigates the effect of meetings on construction project performance and provides recommendations for improvement. The approach of the study was qualitative. Grounded theory was adopted as the method for the analysis process. Data were obtained from interviews with eighteen project managers in Peru. Nvivo software was used to process the data. The findings reveal that efficient meetings improve project performance. It also provides recommendations for improvement to help managers achieve efficient meetings.
