About the Journal

The Revista    Científica    de    la    UCSA publishes scientific research works generated by professionals in the areas of Engineering, Social Sciences, Business and Humanities. In the Magazine can be published, original articles, review articles, current affairs, case reports, letters to the editor, and short communications.

The Magazine is published quarterly (April, August, December). It does not charge fees for evaluation or publication as it is of free and open access. The magazine accepts pre-published or pre-printed articles (preprint) on servers with that methodology.

EDITORIAL POLICY

The Revista Científica de la UCSA is committed to publishing its issues in digital format, as well as distributing them in databases and libraries in the country and the world. All articles received will be reviewed by one or two area editors, who will determine if the text is relevant to the theme of the magazine.

All articles accepted by the Editorial Board are sent for evaluation by external national and/or international academic peers. The article arbitration process is carried out in a double-blind manner, guaranteeing the confidentiality and anonymity of authors and arbiters.

The evaluators issue their opinion in one of the three options: a) Accepted without modification, b) Accepted incorporating the proposed modifications, c) Rejected.

The factors on which the decision on the acceptance-rejection of works by the Magazine Committee is based are:

  • Originality and novelty
  • Utility and interest
  • Clarity of presentation and methodological strictness
  • Basis for conclusions
  • Relevance

The following are grounds for immediate rejection of a manuscript:

  • Multiple or redundant presentation.
  • Deliberate use of false or inaccurate data.
  • Plagiarism.
  • Forgery.
  • Defamation.
  • Falsification of information and documentation.
  • Falsification of authorship, including authors who did not collaborate in the work.

AUTHORSHIP

It is understood that the corresponding author acts in good will on behalf of all the authors of the document, and expresses joint responsibility in the sense of the originality of the work presented.

The order in which the authors appear must be a joint decision of the co-authors. The editor of the magazine can ask the authors to specify what is each one's contribution. Team members who do not meet these criteria may be included, with their permission, in the Acknowledgments section.

The works and opinions published in the magazine are the exclusive responsibility of the authors. The authors transfer ownership of their copyright to the Magazine, so that the articles can be published and published in any form or medium, under a Creative Commons license of the BY attribution type.

The magazine adheres to the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). See: http://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct

PLAGIARISM DETECTION

The UCSA Scientific Magazine uses PLAG. Plagiarism detector and AI. https://www.plag.es/. It is accepted until 20% of coincidences with other publications in the full text, otherwise it will be considered plagiarism. The procedure for publishing errata will be done in the next issue of the same volume. The retraction will be made by note from the Editor who will communicate the details of the retraction in the next issue of the same volume.

ARCHIVES

UCSA Magazine preserves all documents that publishes electronically in different formats, allowing digital access to documents and future transfer when necessary.

The backup of OJS information is done weekly, incremental and differential type, which allows access to all modified or deleted information.

PRESERVATION AND SUPPORT OF THE UCSA SCIENTIFIC MAGAZINE

The UCSA Scientific Magazine is committed to preserving its content over the long term and ensuring the availability for future generations. To do this, the following measures are implemented:

LOCKSS system:

The Magazine uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) in order to create a system of storage distributed among the participating libraries. This allows the creation of permanent archives of the magazine for conservation and restoration purposes.

Backup Copies:

Weekly backups of all magazine content are made, including articles, metadata, and system archives.

The magazine preserves all documents that publishes electronically in different formats, ensuring long-term digital access and future transfer when necessary.

Backup server:

In case the main server goes down, the magazine has a backup server with the same configuration. This allows immediate replacement of failing equipment, minimizing downtime.

With these measures, the UCSA Scientific Magazine ensures the preservation of its valuable content and guarantees continuous access to its publications for the academic community.

INTEROPERABILITY

The UCSA Scientific Magazine incorporates the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), interoperability protocol that allows the collection of metadata by other distribution systems.
