About the Journal
The Revista Científica de la UCSA disseminates scientific research papers produced by professionals in the fields of Engineering, Social Sciences, Business, and Humanities. It publishes original research articles, review articles, current topics, case reports, and letters to the editor.
The journal is an open access publication, which means that all its content is freely and unrestrictedly available to users and their institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without prior authorization from the editor or authors, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition.
The journal is published quarterly (April, August, and December), charges no fees for evaluation or publication, and accepts preprints hosted on specialized servers. Authors may deposit preprint versions of their works in institutional, thematic, or personal repositories, even before formal evaluation or publication.
Editorial Policy
The Revista Científica de la UCSA is committed to publishing its issues in digital format, as well as distributing them in databases and libraries in the country and the world. All articles received will be reviewed by one or two area editors, who will determine if the text is relevant to the theme of the magazine.
All articles accepted by the Editorial Board are sent for evaluation by external national and/or international academic peers. The article arbitration process is carried out in a double-blind manner, guaranteeing the confidentiality and anonymity of authors and arbiters.
The evaluators issue their opinion in one of the three options: a) Accepted without modification, b) Accepted incorporating the proposed modifications, c) Rejected.
The factors on which the decision on the acceptance-rejection of works by the Magazine Committee is based are:
- Originality and novelty
- Utility and interest
- Clarity of presentation and methodological strictness
- Basis for conclusions
- Relevance
The following are grounds for immediate rejection of a manuscript:
- Multiple or redundant presentation.
- Deliberate use of false or inaccurate data.
- Plagiarism.
- Forgery.
- Defamation.
- Falsification of information and documentation.
- Falsification of authorship, including authors who did not collaborate in the work.
Authorship
It is understood that the corresponding author acts in good faith on behalf of all authors of the manuscript and accepts shared responsibility for the originality and accuracy of the work submitted. The order in which authors appear must be jointly agreed upon by all co-authors.
The editorial committee may request a detailed description of each author's contributions to the work. Individuals who collaborated on the project but do not meet the criteria for authorship may be acknowledged, with their consent, in the Acknowledgments section.
The opinions, data, and conclusions expressed in the articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the position of the journal.
